ID COVER; SUPER NATURE

ID MAGAZINE portrays three of the most famous 90s top models in its latest cover. Altough Eva, Helena and Claudia have a sexy attitude and the whole aesthetics is really attractive, they look quite different than before and it doesn't always mean better.
In my opinion, Eva and Claudia look too skinny, Eva has a teenager body and has lost the voluptuous look that made her special when she modelled for Wonderbra...why do we want to see these sex symbols look like skinny teenagers?

ALL WALKS BEYOND THE CATWALK

All walks beyond the catwalk initiative started by giving each designer the opportunity to collaborate with the woman who will model the garment at London Fashion Week.

As these pictures show, cutting-edge design is equally aspirational on a variety of body shapes and not beholden to one standard.

Is diversity the medium-term trend??

DIVERSE MODELS ON TORONTO'S CATWALKS

Toronto is showing diverse models on its catwalks.
In the first two days of LG Fashion Week, both Sunny Fong and David Dixon previewed collections that broke the expected runway mould.

Dixon's models come from a variety of backgrounds. “I pick the girls I like,” the designer says. “I pick girls I think women can relate to.”

Fong employed two models – one of non-traditional age and another of non-traditional size.
"Other cities look to this unnatural ideal of what's beautiful," Fong says. "Toronto prefers a more relatable ideal so the runways reflect the city.

SPANISH ELLE

November's issue portrayed 12 famous women without make-up or retouching and interviewed them about photoshop and natural beauty.

They also suggest that traditional make-up and lighting tricks could be better than Photoshop in some cases!! Completely agree, a good photographer has to work before making the picture, not only after with retouching.

Take a look at some of the pictures of November's issue and think if these woman look good "naked".

RALPH LAUREN APOLOGIZED FOR SKINNY MODEL PHOTOSHOP

Ralph Lauren apologized for this ad with model Filippa Hamilton heavily-photoshopped.

A Ralph Lauren representative said "For over 42 years we have built a brand based on quality and integrity."

"After further investigation, we have learned that we are responsible for the poor imaging and retouching that resulted in a very distorted image of a woman's body."

The model, 23-year-old Filippa Hamilton, size 4 model (she is 5'10" and weighs 120 pounds) has been fired as a result of "her inability to meet her obligations under the contract with us."
She claims she has been fired for being too fat.

SUPERMODELS WHO ARE NOT SUPERTHIN!

What do you think about this Glamour magazine's initiative?
Inspiring? Beautiful? Trendy? Disgusting?

In my opinion, the picture shows real beautiful women feeling good with themselves and allows the public to think about different role models!

DO WE WANT "PLUS SIZE" MODELS ON MAGAZINES?

Lizzie Miller, a UK size 12 model appeared on US edition of Glamour in August.
The magazine received a really positive reaction from people but some journalists weren't convinced about a possible general trend.

Do you think women want to see these kind of images on glossy magazines? Do you (as a woman) want to see them?

STARS SANS FARDS

April's issue of French Elle featured images of celebrities including model Eva Herzigova and actresses Sophie Marceau and Monica Bellucci without any makeup or retouching in order to show their natural beauty.

This can seem kind of "natural" but, in the world we live, it is practically a revolution. I agree that this is kind of an extreme - no trick at all - but, are these pictures showing that the future of beauty is going in this direction?

LAST GIVENCHY ADVERTISEMENT

This is the last Givenchy advertisement. Although there are a lot of ads with the same characteristics, this one made me stopped and looked again.

I found it dark and the models look unhealthy to me. They even have kind of a crazy look.

My question is...do we, as women, like this aesthetics?

ARE THE 90'S MODELS BACK?

Are the 90's models back again? Really?

After scanning the media, I have no doubt that the famous supermodels are back, they are everywhere: magazine covers, commercial campaigns, articles, exhibitions...

My question would be if they still represent the same values with their physical apperance as they did during the first part of their careers.

In order to solve this question, I have selected images of three supermodels: Eva Herzigova, Christy Turlington and Claudia Schiffer to analyse if they look similar now to how they did in the 90's.
Are all of them still representing the image of a sexy, healthy and real woman with curves and a positive attitude?

Judge by yourselves and comment the differences...if there are
