DO WE WANT "PLUS SIZE" MODELS ON MAGAZINES?

Lizzie Miller, a UK size 12 model appeared on US edition of Glamour in August.
The magazine received a really positive reaction from people but some journalists weren't convinced about a possible general trend.

Do you think women want to see these kind of images on glossy magazines? Do you (as a woman) want to see them?

  2. "Possible general trend"? Maybe it´s not trendy but it´s real...

  3. I think that a size 12 in Glamour is still not the idea of a size 12 most women envision. I fluctuate a lot and if you take a photo of me like this, I think I'd look heavier than this woman throughout most of my torso. A plus-sized model still has pretty specific proportions of bust-waist-hip. Most size 12s are not as symmetrical.

  4. I agree Kate but what I like is the proportioned body a real woman could have. I have nothing against being aspirational and more real at the same time.
What I would remark is the model's smile and attitude...it is charming!!

  5. To answer the question above, yes, I would like to see more images such as these on glossy magazines. I am sick to death with the undernoursihed, sceletal images of women in films and magazines! We should insist that these kind of images become the trend, and celebrate the female body in all its shapes and sizes. This idea of women having to look like some kind of android is completely ridiculous and unhealthy. Natural images of women in magazines will support women in feeling good about themselves and enjoy life, an essential goal in itself.
