TO WHAT EXTENT DO THESE IMAGES REPRESENT YOUR IDEAL OF FEMALE BEAUTY?

The following images were shown during a series of workshops developed for the project. The participants had to analyze these media images critically and discuss between them the following points:
  • General impression. What feeling does each board provoke to you?

  • Likes and Dislikes

  • To what extent do these girls represent your ideal of female beauty?

  • Which board is closer to your aspirational ideal female beauty concept

    cant see the pictures clearly but from whatever is visible, none of them really are ideal beauty in my taste and opinion. maybe it has got to do with the upbringing and the indian culture, if i had to choose it would be a mixture of the 1st and 2nd image as individually they dont fulfill all the criteria's we have about the perception of beauty. the 1st one looks too skinny on its own for the liking and also provokes a sense of unhealthyness as most of the women in our country are voluptious and men like it like that. the 2nd one is the closest to being called beautiful but what they are wearing might be affecting my mind. the mens magazine one is unnecessarily and a bit over the top in terms of being evocative and sexual in nature.

    I agree with the sense of unhealthyness of the first board. I also find it too skinny and young.
    My perception of a beautiful, real woman could be something close to second and third board (although the third is too sexy). But the women are real women and with another clothes they would probably look gorgeous.
